Creating a Raspberry Pi Zero cluster for crypto mining

 · Clusters generally work well for tasks that can be parallelised— you can split the task into lots of small ones that can run at the same, cryptocurrencies are ideal for that, and a mining pool is essentially a really big cluster for mining cryptocurrencies.. Since proof of work essentially boils down to trying many combinations and hoping to find the correct one, all ...

Clustering in Data Mining

 · Clustering in Data Mining. The process of making a group of abstract objects into classes of similar objects is known as clustering. In the process of cluster analysis, the first step is to partition the set of data into groups with the help of data similarity, and then groups are assigned to their respective labels.

The proxmox cluster is currently in testing at my basementlab, and I'll move it tomorrow. It's a 3node Dell C6220 actually, not so fancy afterall. This "rig" costs roughly 17k€ and churns 23kH/s for a bit less than 4kW (which I don't really pay for, anyway).

There's 0 point in using the RPi as a cryptocurrency mining rig. Clustered or not, there's no way the tiny processor and network IO has a chance in hell of competing with the specialized hardware that's being used by bigger players. How a cluster would perform vs an individual RPi is nearly impossible to say.

The master cluster had xmrigproxy and all the clients connected to the proxy. Each node had around 11 H/s which totalled 341 H/s (Master node was not mining). A improvement was compiling the 64 bits kernel with distcc for all the nodes. tldr; I am moved on to a mining rig with gpu's. The cluster project was purely eduional tryouts.

Cluster Inspection. We use the zoo data set in combination with Hierarchical Clustering to discover groups of animals. Now that we have the clusters we want to find out what is significant for each cluster! Pass the clusters to Box Plot and use 'Order by relevance' to discover what defines a cluster. Seems like they are wellseparated by ...
